sup guys i bought a used twin turbo kit for supra it has 60,000 miles on it what exactly do i need or need to tell the performance shop if i want it installed in my gs300?? its a 1998. the supra tt kit is from a 1997 supra its a full kit which comes with everything the turbos need to be installed in a supra. let me know how much it might take to do the job on a 1998 gs300 with 32k miles. and around how much hp and rwhp will i have after the installation?? the turbos are factory turbos.

Because of the intake location, the Supra TT turbo kit will not fit your GS3

To all of you guys thinking about TT your GS3: You will have to wait... As far as I know, there's been 1 or two successfull conversions in the US. However, it costs a ton of $. The major problem with the GS3 conversion are the electronics. Seems to me like many tunners are working on this aspect as we speak. Also, I know for a fact that UPRD had a crack at a GS3 TT conversion. I don't remember if they were successfull, but for those really interested, give Bill Steadly (UPRD) a call and see what can be done.

Hubbard316:

I have access to most of the mechanical parts needed for a turbo: turbo, manifold, wastegate, bov, etc. As for you starting to modifying your GS300, just start with the basics: Exhaust, Filter, etc. I would put off buying turbo parts right now, because if and when a kit comes out, it should be fairly complete and put some of thise advance efforts to waste. Just do things that you would want to do even if you werent going turbo e.g. suspension and exhaust. I will update as soon as I can.

I do work for HKS. There are plans to explore the turbo option for the GS and IS, but nothing is set in stone. Regardless, since I own a GS myself, I have great interest in doing so and will put something together for myself initial if needed so. The likelihood of a twin kit is slim, but realistically, a correctly designed kit with a properly sized turbo will offer more than enough power with good driveability. Common misconceptions that a single turbo is lagging, stem from misinformed individuals or incorrect turbo choices. A properly sized turbo can flow enough for 350-400 RWHP and spool up at 2500-3000rpm. As for a twin turbo kit, being a "better" option in regards to power and response, a twin kit does not neccessarily mean that you elimate turbo lag and have great power. For streetable power, honestly a nice single turbo will be more effienct powerwise and costwise. Dont get me wrong, a twin turbo kit is nice, but its "novelty" can get expensive with similar performance as from a single turbo.

MEMYSELFNMYG300:

What used twin turbo kit did you perchase or are planning to purchase? There are a quite a few things that are different between the 2jzgte and 2jzge (Supra TT motor and GS300 motor). From you post, I am assuming that you purchased a set of stock turbos..

As with what JacobT stated about the intake manifold design of the GS300 motor, the stock supra twin turbo assembly would not clear the intake manifold and the throttle body. Secondly, the exhaust ports and flange are different between the 2jzgte and 2jzge, therefore not allowing the stock twin turbo assembly to bolt on.

Turbocharging, single or twin, the stock 2jzgte in the 98+ GS300 is physically possible. But as I and others have mentioned before, the electronics / engine management and fuel delivery limitations. Many are currently working on these issues and I have no doubt that a solution will be available relatively soon.
