Help APEXi S-AFC

Guru,
Where did you mount your S-AFC II unit? Di d you tune it your self or have it done on a dyno?
I'm thinking of putting one on my 430 if the wiring is the same. Looks like the S-AFCII is quite a bit larger than the S-AFC ( first model).

GILLEXUS. I suggest you use a wideband to tune the car with your SAFC2 or take it to a dyno since they will likely have a wideband too. Although many installed the SAFC2 by taking out the lighter, I already had that area taken. So I installed it in the hand rest. Very simple and easy. Ran the wire inside the plastic and the only place where you can see a piece of it is if you fully open the handrest. The pic below shows an extreme closeup of it, but in real life it looks quite neet. Also, SAFC2 will fit perfectly there.

Thanks for the pics, they both look clean & neat.
This might seem like a silly question, but will the S AFC automaticly adjust the engines air / fuel ratio as the conditions change ( tune it and leave it) or do you have to adjust it from time to time as things change ie. hi rpm, gas octane and engine mods?
Mariusz,
Not quite sure what you mean by using a wide band to tune the S-AFC? Do you mean use a wide rpm range?
Thanks

I happen to have an AWD dyno in house so I did it in my spare time. The S-AFC II still fits in ashtray with dremeling.

When you did yours what kind of HP/TQ gaines do you get?? I read somewhere that 12-13% air / fuel ratio what you want to try and achieve, is this true?

Your AF mixture stock is around 13:1 if I remember correctly. I'd have to take a look. Obviously this is not something you want to touch yourself if you have to ask some of the questions you are asking. Please take to a professional. No adjustment will be necessary if they tune it properly. YOu shoudl also make sure part throttle settings are okay and safe. With intakes it is very easy to throw everything off whack but the S-AFC II can correct if you know what you're doing. That part of it has to be done on the street, NOT on the dyno. The S-AFC s just a tool. Without proper tuning it will not do anything and with the wrong tuning it will just cause damage to your motor. Use responsibly.
