Don't call it a comeback
I bought a 2k GS400 in 2000, and joined CL back then. Since then I have had other cars but always kept the GS. Now we had our second kid yesterday, and closed on a new house Friday. The wife is getting a new GS430 and I figured I would have to sell my Porsche and get some kind of SUV. I thought getting something decent for like 30k would free up all the money we need to furnish this big house we built.
After looking and driving all kinds of cars. I couldn't find anything better than just keeping the GS400(paid for); we might be a two GS family.
I have been driving it all week. I have decided to keep it , sell the Porsche, and do all the things to the GS that I wanted to do back in 2000 before life(and 9/11) got in the way.
I have trolled through clublexus all these years because it is so much better than other forums. I am glad to see CL doing so well.
It is nice to be back.....it is a f'n awesome car and I didn't realize how awesome until I was comparing it to what I could buy now.

Glad you decided to keep the GS, a testament to how great these cars are compared to the more expensive luxury cars on the market. Congrats too on all the other great events happening in your life with your growing family

Welcome back.
I agree, keep the GS, and sell the Porsche. The only non-Lexus car I own is a high-horsepower modified Rx7 Turbo. However, after driving my GS400 for the last few months, I want to trade the Rx7 for a nice SC400. It is time for the Rx7 to go, and make room for a nice comfortable and quick SC400. You just can't beat Lexus for reliability (assuming the car has not been neglected).

Well, I will have to wait to send pics until after I de-soccermom the GS. It needs some TLC from the portercable, lots of polish and some carnuba.
There will be a 2004 Porsche Boxster for sale, one owner, the sweet Carrera wheels,10k miles(plus as many as I can rack up with the top down in the spring weather).
The GS should be in good shape: 92k, all services done, Mobile 1 since break-in.
I have to do a great deal of forum searching and then maybe some questions before I start modding. The first to go will be the curb-rashed 16" wheels; then the hood needs paint(I think she followed sand and gravel trucks around. Suspension will have to be next, I know it won't be a go-kart like the Boxster(by the way it is a blast to dodge a bouncing rock at 80mph in the Boxster), but I think I don't even have the much of the stock suspension left at 92k.
Thanks for the kind words.
There has always been an extra level of class at CL. Read other forums, you will know what I mean.
I did join CL earlier than 2002 I think, but some change caused me to have to re-register. I do know it was before SRT had their intakes or SC system. I even have a club lexus hat from back then.
I feel old.

welcome back... well the 98-05 Gs just looks palin awesome IMO.. Its funny because 06 models and the older GS's still flow well with the current 06 lexus and other models like BMW, Mercedes, audi, etc.. Glad you where able to keep it.. I'm sure you have plenty ideas after 6 years on CL..
