If you purchased the 17" wheel upgrade package does it also include a 17" spare? If you have stock 17's what size is your spare? I have the factory chrome 17" and I just noticed my spare is a 16".

Thanks,

Talking

Notify your dealer. Your spare should be 17" also. Doubt that it would be chromed, but sounds like somebody at the dealership did the ol' switcheroo after your car got there.

Just double checked my trunk. 17" with Potenza. Call dealer. Be nice, but be firm. I think the fact that your 17s included fullsize alloy spare is/was even included on the window sticker.

Default It should match

Your spare should be a 100% match. If you pay for the upgrade to 17", it is understood that you get 17" spare. Additionally, if you pay for the chrome you should in turn get a chrome spare. Personally, I went aftermarket and ordered a 5th wheel (for my spare) in chrome also. If your spare is 16", look on your window sticker, did your car come from the factory with the 17" option, or was it dealer installed? If it was dealer installed (i.e. they took it off one that had them, or they borrowed them for the showroom car), then they usually overlook the fact to change the spare also. Also if that is the case someone with a set of 16" is potentially driving around with your 17" spare.

Thanks for the quick responses, I'll call the dealer. I believe the wheels were a dealer upgrade and they probably forgot to switch the spare.

The Man 986 - I'll be exploring that soon...

When I bought my car, it had the Chrome 17's on there...of course, I wasn't about to pay even $1 for these, so I had them removed and replaced with 16" silver (and had the price adjusted too of course).

Well I never looked at my spare until recently...hehehe, they forgot to take out the Chrome 17" spare...since it doesn't do me any good (I need at least a 18" wheel to clear my brakes), I'm thinking about getting rid of it...

I'm going to try to fit a 18" HRE wheel in there and a maybe a 19" or 20"...judging by the looks, I don't think a 20" will fit..19", maybe...

Hey manaray,

Let me know how much you want for the 17" chrome spare if you are ready to get rid of it.

Email me at wscottwilliams@home.com

Thanks,
Scott

Default CHROME SPARE???

Hey Manaray, so you got a spare chrome wheel, huh? I just called my dealer to raise some hell about that, and they told me all cars optioned that way only come with the 4 wheels on the ground chromed.
Any way to prove them wrong? My window sticker only says "Lexus chrome wheels $1700", but no quantity.
BTW, mine has the same 17 wheel/tire combo, but not chromed (still brand new).
Thanks man.

Hmmm, I don't know if there's any way to prove it...it could be by dealer discretion...just tell them that you've talked to quite q few people who have bought GS's and they all had matching spares...the SALES side of dealerships are really SLEEZY though...since you've already bought the car, they don't give a rat's *** anymore...they got paid.

What you might want to do is call Lexus customer service and ask them if it should have come with a chrome spare. I mean this is a luxury car, they should include a FULL spare that matches you wheels...
