I tell them mine is a 98 3/4 of them moroons said Lexus did not start making these cars untill 2002 I look at them like their crazy.

If someone thinks less of a car because it's a couple years old... then I don't want to know that person. The last thing on my mind is what they think about me or my car.

Besides, my 02 is frequently mistaken for an 05 or an 06. Obviously that's from someone that doesn't know/recognize there is a newer generation GS.

I'm happy to tell people what year and mileage the GS is... even how much I paid. There's nothing like pointing out the quality of a used Lexus for $20k compared to a new Caddilac/BMW/etc.

Like many folks here, I always tell people that my Cinnabar GS is a '98, which usually upsets them as their much newer "off brand" car looks like crap. Then I tell them I paid less for it than a brand new Subaru, although it cost "blah blah blah" when new. Some then say that a warranty is important to them when owning their favourite car, to which I reply that I wouldn't own a car that needs a warranty to make me comfortable. I tell them that's why I bought a Lexus. They don't break. People say "It doesn't break?". And I tell them, "No, neither car, ever. Just oil changes. And I put a zillion miles on them every year....."
Really gets people going who bought a Lumina, or a Cavalier, or an Audi, or a Jag. Feels great.

I start off by telling them the Kbb ... of the car ... then my price ... then 99 GS400 V8... ect haha good to know all the specs...... ect.... then i get a DAmn ..... ii should have bought a lexus .... Best choice I have MAde .....

when it becomes something like adrians car i have to get used to the face ...


yesterday after I washed her up and got gas over here and a guy walks up and says WOW Nice car..... and forgot he didnt pump yet either.. and almost drove away... and came back HAHAHA

Mine is an 02 with 38k miles on it. People think its an 05 b/c its spotless inside and out. I love to see the look on their face when older people see me and look at me like...what are you doing driving that???
Best investment I 've ever made...car wise.

haha people think my car is newer than it really is.. they ask me what year and i tell them it's a 2000 and they're like WOW looks really good and then they ask if it's a V6 and i say nope, v8 and they're like NO WAY! hahah i love people's responses
