This was coming from people with new(er) Acura TL's at that time. Many loved that car and it too had a timeless design...I miss it too sometimes.
i dunno what it is with KA7/8 Legends but almost everyone loves it! mine had 220k+ miles and lived strong!

No need to lie about it...if you take good care of it and do a few updates people will think it's a newer car. When they find out it's an "older" car (98-01) they will appreciate it even more. I get that in my 5 Series all the time, when i tell them its a 97 they're amazed that it's not a 02+. It's all in how you make it look and how you take care of it.

Another thing, my 97 BMW (which looks like an 02+) and the wife's GS which will start to look very updated soon are both paid for, so, I'd rather have an "older" car that I can afford to pay cash for as opposed to having a "newer" car and have a massive monthly payment and increased insurance.

I haven't had to lie. I've got a 2000 and people always assume I have an 05 or 06. They just don't realize that the 2nd gen GS has been around since 98.

That's the plus side of having a car built over a longer period than 4 or 5 years (Accord, Camry).

dang old thread, I just had a friend ask me the other day why do I constantly spend money on my old car (2001, 150K+ miles) when I could basically buy a newer car for the amount of money put into it.... I replied with....its Love

I don't lie about it but I try to down play it. Another VP came into the room with my boss and I and asked him if he saw my Lexus and passed a remark about how much we are paying our staff. I said it was used and that I paid less for it then he did for his wife's new Chevy SUV. He said oh, theres not a mark on it, I thought it was new and then retreated.
