I was engaged, broke it off, saw bluelex's car, bought hotlex's car and spent more on this car than I ever thought possible

I have had a lot of fun along the way ...This car has brought me to Japan

i was car shopping for a new car 'cause my mom wanted to get me a graduation present.. so we go to Acura 'cause I liked the new TL A-Spec's, but the sales guy gave me a card and said : "come back with your mom or something" so I said **** that, went right across the street to Lexus (which had just opened up in my city) and looked around.. this guy pointed out that he had a black GS400 fully loaded and got me in it, once I saw it, I remembered when I was in middle school and fantasized about that exact car! I didn't have to look around anymore, I put down $10k and the car was mine the next day after I had some of my mechanic friends come inspect the car and my mom talked them down about $4k Couldn't be happier!

Good deal not what I wanted...I had a IS 300 before this car, I loved my IS, until I wrecked it... Sad day...but got into a GS 300, wanted to look for another IS but the GS was at a great price so the rest is history...although the IS will always have a place in my heart and the GS also...maybe after a little 2JZGTE love

While cruising the GS400's for sale on Ebay a while back I saw a Cinnabar with tan one for sale, and at that moment I said to myself - if I can find one like that, I will buy it! Well a year later, one came up in the next city, I knew the salesman, and I was off to trade my 94 Camaro LT-1. When you go to trade a high mile Camaro at a Lexus dealership, you will get bent over.
But I got the car. I look back at it every time I walk away.

I only wanted any year white with black interior and NAV.
Took me over one year to find this combo with low mileage. Good price too.
Satisfied

I wanted black on black and was suprised how hard it was to find one. I found a black on black Sport Design and decided that I was oging to own it depsite the price. It was certified, so that was a bous, but I probably paid a little too much. I really don't care. It's been only the second car that I've ever bought and didn't have the slightest bit of buyers remorse. In fact I wish more people would pay " a little bit more" so we can keep the resail value up there!
I just recently drove through the local Lexus dealership and saw a 2002 GS430 for $36000. I smiled knowing that car is keeping my value up!

I wanted 1 from the first day I seen it. A friend of mine pulled up to my house with a brand new 1998 GS400, I didn't even know what kind of car it was until I got closer. We went for a ride, and he let me drive it around for a few hours. Then about 2 months later he added some 20's and a $18K sound system, thats when I really fell in love with it, but I couldn't afford it at the time. So 5 years later I got 1. My vote goes for good deal with all that I wanted.

I was considering a 99 BMW 540i Dinan option or a 99 Lexus GS400. I saw both in the Boston area. I did lots of research and it was time for a test drive. For some reason, after first seeing and driving the Lexus I bought one. I never did drive the BMW. Just fell in love with the car and started looking forward to doing mods....still looking forward to mods.

I always wanted a GS400. My first Lexus was the 94LS400, nice but way sloooo. I wanted a used car in the 15k-20k range and at the time GS400's were 25k. As soon as the GS400's 99 model dropped under 20K I was looking. I listed my LS400 pretty high, but a guy who respected the maintenance I had done offered me a good price. I had been watching this GS with 67k for a while, a lady who had been trying to sell it and the timing was right. I sold my LS at 10.30 am and picked up the GS at 12 pm.

It is actually the best car all in all I have ever had. Consider this, quality, styling, power, status, handling, mod ability, comfort, fuel econ, wheel choices, and can carry the 2 toddlers in safety, it is just great. At the time my wife said I should have kept the LS but she was watching $ as the 2nd baby came along, I'm glad this one time I didn't listen! I guess the only improvement I'd make is to get a newer GS, same body 2nd gen, just newer and maybe blue. Mine is white and has about 96k now. It is on L tunes suspension and paid off so who can complain!
