Aside from the obvious maintenace stuff such as seals, waterpump, timing belt, and fluids. How about his tranny. Surely it needs a rebuild or something at that kind of mileage. The bands and packs in there are wear and tear items. Well, maybe it's just my driving style. I know my tranny will need an overhaul at 75-80K
He sold the car in the Spring of 2005 with 317,000 miles on it. As I recall, he got about $7,500 for it. He went through 7 sets of tires and did three 90k services. He also replaced the shocks at some point. He told me that he did not have to replace any other major items on the car.

He bought an 06 GS430 in April or May of 2006. If I remember correctly, he had over 40k miles on it before the end of last year. He's in sales and is in his car a lot.

that all depends really... see, i paid 9500 for mine, but it has 157k miles on it and needed some work. the work would have been really expensive, had i not been a lexus mechanic at a dealer when i can get cost on parts. but i think trade-in kelly blue book on my car was about 10500 when i bought it. it has nav, hid's, heated seats.. basically, every option. but it needed a new steering rack, ball joints, cats, and a few other minor parts.

MY GS 300 has 103k I have put almost 10 k on it since I had it since Feb. I have had 3 oil changes using Mobile 1 and 1 new air filter runs and looks good but be careful when cleaning engine it cost me $268 smacks.

I bought my 99 GS400 a year ago. It had 76K miles on it then and I have added another 30K. In that time, I have replaced the following:

Timing belt and water pump (the 90K service)
Starter (I had the starter on my LS 400 go out at 94K miles too, it must be me...)
Ball joints
Brakes - front and rear pads

The car runs great and is a lot of fun.

I may not be the highest mileage...but maybe one of the fastest accumulating ones? I bought brand new with 11 miles in 2003, now currently have 96k miles on the odometer.

98 GS400: 207k fun to drive and still has lots of power
96 LS400: 168k smooth - just did a 1k mile weekend trip to Philly - NCAA LAX championships
96 Toyota Land Cruiser: 137k (can't run it as much, cuz I can't afford to fill it up - 13 MPG)

Plan for the GS and LS is to get 300k each, the TLC is for the winter

Default 98 Gs300

I have a 98 GS300 with 146k. Bought it with 95k for 11Grrr. I have done t-belt, main seal, charcoal canister. The car still runs strong and I will buy another GS after this one for sure.
