Default tar

i have really thick tar on my rims, anyone have any suggestion on what to use without harming the chrome

go to your auto parts store and get tar remover. it will not harm your chrome. if your hessitant, try it on some chrome surface other than your car.

dont even think its tar/road grim. can chrome rip off rims easliy? i had these rims on for 6 months max. dunno how they are already ripping

salt on the road? maybe cheap chrome? wat's "ripping" mean?

well, im not sure if its peeled off or just really thick road grim. i tried to scrub it off with stuff and had no luck

Could be a manufacturer defect where the chrome did not adhere properly. When this happens the chrome will bubble, then split and peel right off exposing the metal underneath. Under the weather conditions of Juneau it wouldn't take long at all for the corrosion to build up in that spot. Then again, it could just be a big blob of tar, which will be a ***** to clean off if it has completely cured and hardened. Pics of the culprit area?

nm, thanks guys, but i found the prblem. The clear coat on the rims are peeling off and since this town sucks there is no where i can get it redone. the guy said the road de icer was eating it up since i didnt clean my rims much in the winter time. Guess new rims soon
