Default GS400 or Honda Civic Hybrid?

Hey guys my dad is looking for a new car. He wants a Honda civic hrybrid for 22k while I want him to get a GS4 to add to the GS3 lol. I told him how much he will save but he is still not convinced. Can you throw out some ideas to help convince him? BTW he is not looking for power as this will be a delivery car for his work. My plan is to have the GS3 as the delivery car and the GS4 as my car. So please throw out some ideas!!!!

Thanks,
Elliott

With the gas prices the way they are, I don't think the GS3 would be a good idea as a delivery car.
Just my opinion.

If it's going to be a delivery car, let him have the civic. Both are in different classes obviously. If he's going to be in stop and go traffic a lot, the hybrid will do a much better job at fuel consumption. How much will the GS cost him?

Not too sure how much it will be. For deliveries he does not go too far at all. His farthest delivery will probably be about 20 miles or so. And I just don't want him to spend all that money when he can get something IMO better and cheaper...

The GS3 is getting old (98-99 i assume), and things might start to break. With the civic, he'll get warranty and a peace of mind. And besides, his insurance might be cheaper too. In the long run, he'll save money with the civic, unless he's getting a spectacular deal with a GS3 (talking thousands less).

How about a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris? Real world fuel economy up there with the hybrids, way cheaper to buy and very functional for deliveries. Especially the Fit with all the seating configurations.

Although it's nice to envision driving around a GS for deliveries for the comfort and all, it's work. Your pops probably won't enjoy the GS the same way anymore.

Plus with all the startups, the GS's starter will go out soon, and that could be another $1k on top of the bill. The civic hybrid, on the other hand.. you wont have to replace the starter for..oh wait..there is no starter

They always say use the right tools for the job. It sounds like the Civic Hybrid is more the right tool than the GS for your fathers intended use.

I think he should keep it in the Toyota family.

Scion xB - now that's a born delivery vehicle!

That's my vote.

Can you change the poll because I want him to get the GS4 to maybe save some cash...
