That is a thought. Even though they sell a battery back-up, what if it sits at the body shop or repair shop for week and everything runs dead ( that means the back-up too). we all know how some shops leave things on while your car is there.

I was actually looking at this for my car... it gets expensive to do four doors. They don't have a GS-specific kit, but I'm hoping there is a universal kit I can use since I'm painting the car anyway.

Basically, when the car is unlocked the doors will open for anybody... but the same could be said for your stock door handles. When the car is locked, the system is disabled.

There is a backup battery available - probably a worthwhile investment.

I think if anyone is going to do this mod they should mold it to the door and repaint the whole door. If you dont want to go through all that a body shop should be able to match it up pretty well

They have used a slim jim type of thing on my other cars when I got locked out. I am guessing they could do the same type of thing to open the door and then pop the hood.

I got locked out of my GS in the garage, the first week I got it. I made a slim jim out of a metal yard stick and got into my car in less than 5 min.

I didn't even know what the heck I was doing either, just kind of slid it around untill it caught on to something.

I watched a AAA guy do it on another car. Kinda scary how easy it was to do this.

Let me tell you I was not pleasantly surprised to find out how easy it eas to get into the GS without even damaging it.

From the video...it looks like the owner still needs to have a remote control to lock and unlock the doors.

The Magic Touch pad only "pops" open the door an inch (at best) by touch after using the remote to unlock the doors. Then you need to cram your fingers in that gap to swing open the door.

Sorry, this product does NOT make any sense to me. Just my 2 cents.

Pete
