Default Noob here...and I'm looking at possibly getting a GS later this year.

Hey guys,
I just sold my '04 DB 350z in preparation to close on my first house. I'm 27 and should have done this a long time ago but I've been throwing money in the import money pit since '93. I've had everything from swapped Honda's to 240's...over 12+ vehicles. Anyway, I've always liked the 2nd Gen GS and joined recently to get more information on what model/year etc are best and most reliable.

I wanted to relieve some debt by getting rid of the Nissan while I moved in and got situated. I've thrown a lot of possibilites in the air like an early 90's NSX, another Z, G35 Sedan, SUV, etc. I think the GS would be the most comfortable and roomy that I can make look good and still enjoy modding.

Here is a gallery of my old Z. Amuse front, Vertex sides/rear, on 19x9/19x10.5 Work Meister S1's in 3 Piece. http://www.zmodified.com/gallery/thu....php?album=517

I know you guys will stress the Search feature but just wanted to give an introduction. If you've got any good info to share on what years etc are best I would appreciate that. I'm not looking to purchase until later this year, if not the beginning of '07.

Your Z looks great!! It seems youre concerned with not throwing so much money into modding imports like you have in the past, but you'll find this group has just as hard a time doing that to our 2nd gen GS's Some say they just want to add some rims and a drop, and that's it, but those are usually the ones that end up with the most mods! haha!

Thanks man. I'm not really concerned about throwing more money into it as I know I couldn't keep it stock. I'll definitely be after suspension and wheels and who knows from there.

I think you should get like an '01 or '02 GS430. It's a good starting point because it already has good horsepower plus some other things you might add on later that you won't need to. If I could do it all over, I would have gotten a '01 GS430 with nav. It already has HID lights and yellow fogs that I had to pay for to add on, plus all the horsepower it comes with stock. I have to spend to add that stuff on.

I would start on a '98 GS4 because it has the same power as 01 430, HID, and yellow fogs, PLUS, it has something the 01+ doesn't have: Tiptronic ! that is sweet.

For much cheaper price, too!
