Sorry to hear about the break-in. That really does blow and does give you that "I want to kill somebody" feeling. My car was broken into this past December. I was getting Christmas stuff from my attic and had it in my garage so I had to park my car in the driveway. My briefcase was on the passanger seat and they did a smash and grab. So I lost a checkbook, a Mont Blanc pen, personal paperwork, etc plus a $600 Coach briefcase. They did not mess with my stereo since it is a stock ML system. You really need to get a police report and file the claim with your Insurance. My personal stuff was covered under my home owners policy and the damage to the car was covered under my auto policy. This type of claim is not used against your insurance rates. All the stuff they stole from your car may be worth $4K but the repair to your car can run into the $2K to $3K range. Make sure who ever repairs your car look at everything. The inside door panel on my car was scratched up and they had money in there to replace it ($1800) they also included repaint of all the panels on that side of the car. This stuff adds up real quick. You will feel much better when you get that check and can replace all your stuff. Good luck.

thank you all for your kind words....but at the end of the day its my fault for not parking it in the garage....4 the last 6 years my Gs4 has been parked nicely in the garage....but its 2 flashy since there are lots of mods done 2 it so i'm sure people in the area have an idea of where i live!

As for the stupid cops, OMG, they didn't even come 2 my house, there like its not an emergency...you come 2 us... mother *****s.... i was there yesturday for 2 hrs and finally they come see the car, do absoloutely nothing.....and said we'll send a SOKO unit(fingerprinting) to come check the car out, that was last nite...no 1 called or showed up....2day i called and they like it could be days b4 they even come....

I'm soo frustrated man, this is the worst feeling, getting violated and no1 even give a ****

Honestly, What are cops good 4? 2 setup speed traps and screw people over and make sure they dont' drive again? I was at the station and i see how they responded to people that were coming in "oh take a seat, its gona be a while" etc.... Man, this is really funny ****

As for the insurance, I will not claim.... Just personal reasons, im already having a hard time getting insured so this will just top the cake!

So my pockets are going 2 take a huge hit for nothing!

Sorry to hear what happened to your car. You really feel violated when things like this happen. Same thing happened to a buddy of mine, his car got broken into right outside his place. That's why I don't ever leave my car parked outside. Always in the garage when I am home.

i'm more worried about the identity issue... you should never carry your social outside. leave it at home or even in a safe deposit box...

damn... maybe i should get an alarm system installed... but all i got are rims, intake and exhaust... not even a navi so...
