Can a leather steering wheel on a 98 be trade out for a wood steering wheel with no air bag? The lexus dealer said it was easy $80 in labor job but I am not confident he understood. what do you think thanks in advance. I think the seller of the wood wheel is coming off a 2001.

 

steering wheel will fit but the airbag is the tricky part. you need a single stage airbag and i believe only a 2001 lexus rx300 can fit.

 

It's pretty easy I think you can do it your self just remember how you took it apart and it's that easy. Plus you can save money for other mod's.

 

correct, the wood wheel will fit no problem, but the airbag won't fit anymore. it's completely different shape. that's why you need new airbag as well, and the 01 rx300 one is the only one that will fit from what i have read
