They were "cleaning house" and can't find them now. I thought the same thing....Do you just throw parts away? Granted, this is a HUGE bodyshop but still, brand new in the box stuff doesn't usually get thrown away.

If your bodyshop lost your parts...I would suggest you take your business elsewhere.

I don't care how great their work may be. The simple fact that they lost your parts should be a HUGE warning to you about their lack of cleanliness and organizational skills.

A ideal body shop should be reasonably clean and organized. If they do paint work, their tools should be clean. If they do automotive work, the floors should at least be scrubbed at night.

I'm not trying to say that I'm an expert and this is how my shop would be like, but there are things any person would want in an ideal shop.

What if they forget to put back a screw or two onto your car? Would you be upset? I would. A screw off a body panel is probably not as critical as say...off the engine. But...

Body shops are paid to be meticulous w/ their work. There is no excuse for losing parts, and this should be an alarm to you about their work. (How hard is it to place a box w/ all parts that belong to a car, next to the vehicle that they are working on?)

I don't usually post in this area, but happend to spot this thread. My comments may seem harsh, but I hope you at least give my comments some thought.

"Lost" parts = "Stolen" parts. If they "lost" your parts, make them replace them.

I'm sorry to say it but I think they pulled a fast one on yea. Does the owner own a lexus? Maybe knowing the value of the UGO spoiler and such. It just doesn't seem logical to "lose" something that large. Just make sure you get the full value of those parts. If he does not, take legal action right away.
