Hey Guys and Gals,
Hope everyone is doing well.
I am a proud owner of SC400 but it is time for a 4door sedan, so I'm going to stick with Lexus.
I am new to GS4x0 world. I am going to be getting a GS400/430(not sure yet). I'd prefer 430.
My search is for a low mileage car(private party). Around 30k-40k, want a major service FREE from worries till 80k(of course FULL mobil 1 synethic oil all the way)
What are the engine differences between the sc400 and gs4x0?
Is this possible with GS series?
Is there a FAQ for future GS owners? Pro's and con's of GS models, things to watch for?
I would like to hear from happy or SAD GS owners(Dislikes and likes).
thank you and take care AND stay safe,
007lexus

The difference between the SC400 and GS430 is that the GS430 has the 4.3L V8 ingine, as opposed to the SC400's 4.0L V8. the 4.3L has a bit more more hp (depending what year SC u have), and it has a tad whee more torque. The pros of the car is that its very reliable like all other lexus. No major known issues with the GS430, unlike the GS400 (starter seems to go out early for those 98-99).
If you're looking for an upgrade from the SC400, the GS430 is definitely one of them. It's comfortable and classy. There isn't much con to the car, except it still suffers from that soft steering that feels unresponsive (typical toyota/lexus). Then again, a few suspension mods wouldn't hurt
