Our six-year old spilled something in our GS4 when we first got it and I could never get that cup holder all the way clean so our appears broken too. If you 'fonz' it it will work though. I don't mean beating it to death but a swift close-fist and it usually pops open. Goofy, yes. But it works for me until I actually make time to take it all apart and find the real cause.

LOL i figured that it would take some smacking around to open that thing, i was ready to start prying it open with a flathead. but i figured i should ask, because there could be a secret switch/method to release it or something.



Yeah the cupholder is completely stuck, it doesnt even open a little bit to pull it out the rest of the way, like i dont need it to shoot out drastically, just enough to manually push it open. i will try to pry and clean the thing..

I have a spare rear console (grey) with the cup holder in mint condition. It is very easy to replace, if I remember correctly there are like three bolts in that back that need to be removed. If you anyone is interested in just replacing the whole thing just PM me. Again, both the cushion and cup holder are in mint condition.
