I recently noticed a blue GS300 in the area and fell in love with the color. Its not the spectra blue, not nearly as bright. Its more of a darker blue offset with the beige leather made me regret my recent white GS purchase. Can anyone give me a little more info on this color and when it was made?
As I just said Im new to the GS world. Having owned 7 TT supras, a SC 4runner, and 2 SC300 (along with 20+ other cars) Im sure this one will be fun as well. Gotta start the modding
Thanks guys

It was an older couple, doubt they had it repainted but maybe they got it used? It did look very classy. Ill snap some pics if I see it again. It was a 300 with chrome emblems

Could be. Its hard to get a good image of it so small. With all my looking around Ive never seen this color before, or maybe just never noticed it. I assumed it was probably a color from one of the last production years of the 2nd gen GS.

On "How to order" selections, just put in the year and model to find the available colors for that year.

If it's a 2nd Gen GS (1998 - 2005) and it's an OEM color then it might be one of the following blues:
Spectra Blue Mica - 1998-2000, 8M6 (brightest of the three)
Blue Onyx Pearl - 2001-2005, 8P8 (dark, dark blue)
Blue Marlin Pearl - 2003-2004, 8P9 (more subdued than Spectra, somewhat gray tint)
Spectra Blue Mica - 1998-2000, 8M6 (brightest of the three)
Blue Onyx Pearl - 2001-2005, 8P8 (dark, dark blue)
Blue Marlin Pearl - 2003-2004, 8P9 (more subdued than Spectra, somewhat gray tint)

I think he's atlking about the Blue Marlin Pearl. I was trying to find pics but no luck. I know someone had this color with some chrome wheels and it looked very good but I can't remember his screenname.

I think you're right. It probably is Blue Marlin Pearl. I have a paint chip from a Sherwin Williams Automotive Color guide PDF but it doesn't do justice to the color. Lexus of Dayton has a Blue Marlin Pearl 2003 CPO GS430 for sale and the photos show the color pretty well.

Apparently so.
For some reason Lexus likes to pull the nice blues (Spectra Blue Mica, Blue Marlin Pearl and Indigo Ink) and prefers to offer white, silver, beige and three shades of black...![Sad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
Oddly enough, when they pulled Blue Marlin Pearl from the GS, they offered it for a couple of years on the Tundra. In 2006 they still had Spectra Blue Mica (my personal favorite) available for the Tundra . For the 2007model year they also introduced a new blue called Blue Ribbon Metallic for the Camry - it is also very sharp.
