Why aren't more people installing lojack (preferably with the earning warning system)?

I did it with mine but got the Viper version. The module is well hidden for those tracking systems, and it is near impossible for a theif to find it in a timely manner. I've been telling dudes to get an aftermarket system with a pager. If a crook attempts to use the key to open the door, the alarm will trigger and page you up to 1/4 mile away. I just want my buddy Tone to find his car in one peace. If he does, I want him to get a system ASAP.

I cant imagine how this must feel for you, Tone. I'm truly sorry for this happening. If you believe in karma at all just know that this fool WILL get what is coming to him, in one form or another.

Best of luck.

PS to not have Lo Jack in a city that provides its use, is pretty ignorant in my mind personaly......That would be the first thing id do to my car if i lived in any major city.
Lojack does work. My cousin who owned an alarm shop in NYC, but now lives in Florida, had his GMC Typhoon stolen from a repair shop. Idiots at therepair shop did not lock the truck The cops tracked it and found it a day later parked on in residential area. The cops did not catch the guys, but they did manage to find the truck with minor damage to the hood that they tried to pry open, but could not open do to the hood lock he installed.

Sorry to read about your misfortune.

The previous owner of my GS had lojack installed. I thought I'd get an insurance break, but no such luck. Still, I'm glad to have it [lojack].

Sorry about that lost you might get it back. Lexus are nearly impossilbe to steal If some body stole his GS than they eiter had acess to his keys or they are proffesional car thieves there are ways to steal lexus but i'ts very expensive and hard to do. Lexus are harder to steal than most other luxury cars. There is a radiowave scanning device that is can be used to copy the rolling codes your key fob sends to your car visa versa. This is one of the only ways to steal a lexus. It cost 15-20,000 dollars. Of course you can throw it on a flat bed. Call insurance co. and Police.

So, are all Lexus models that difficult to steal or only the later ones? What about the 1st gen GS's or SC's? I guess I'm glad to know that my 2nd gen is rather difficult to steal, but apparently it isn't impossible.

I have the Viper tracking system. Here is info and retail pricing info on it
http://www.drdetailshop.com/v200review.htm Lojack I believe has a one time fee of 700 bucks including install that takes less than 1 hour. No monthly fees for lojack
