Default GS300 w/ Manual transmission

Alright I'm new here and I seached the site for this, but came up with little info.

I have a 99' GS300 and would like to sell my 99' prelude SH because I feel like I'm getting too old for it. Anyway, I want to take my GS to the next level, but feel like I would'nt enjoy the automatic transmission when I add a little boost to the equasion. I've noticed that the GS and SC and NA Supra are very close to one another from reading various threads on this site and others. Would it be somehow possible to swap an SC300 or NA Supra manual transmission into my GS?

I know it would be possible if I dropped in a 2jzgte and it's tranny into my GS with an AEM EMS, but I just don't have that kind of cheese.

Is this impossible? Should I just boost and give up my 5spd I love so much?

It's possible and a few guys here have done it. Just be prepared to drop some coin! I believe the Supra Getrag 6spd v160 tranny costs like $4500 alone. Not to mention the custom work to mount it in and add a clutch pedal. Then you gota find something that will let your ecu work with a manual tranny. Then after all that, you need to fabricate some interior dash pieces to cover up the hole for the shifter and boot. If you go boost, like I am. Just build up the auto tranny and it will be plenty strong.

Oh yea, and welcome to CL!

The auto tranny isnt too bad. I would just build it up. Plus if you drink heavily you only have to worry about working the gas pedal instead of three pedals and a stick. lol

i believe there were some sc400s that came in manual transmission i believe the motor was a 1uzfe or something like that and if you can find one of those im sure you can swap that but regardless if you are planning to do that plan on spending a pretty penny

Sorry, incorrect. The SC's (with the 1UZ as you mention) were all autos. The SC300's with the 2JZGE had an optional 5 speed for certain years.

You can part out a Lexus sc300 manual transmission from 300-700$ Than you can take it to a mechanic and only pay labor then you’d have to ask them if you can add the clutch this route is a lil harder but less coin $

You would also need to do something about the parking brake? its where the clutch pedal will need to be.

Not once you cut down the regular foot brake pedal to normal-MT-car size.
