75k service cost? & VA/DC/MD dealers and shops??
Hey folks,
Long time no post--hope all is well with each of you.
First ?---- i was quoted a price of $450 + tax for my 75k service for a 2000 GS400. Seems a bit high--what do y'all think?
Anyway, new to DC and have found area dealer prices sometimes double that of Germain in COlumbus, OH.
So that being said, any recommendations on DC dealers and private shops within about an hour or so of DC, too? Annapolis, Newport News, Richmond, Towson, Owings Mills? I've only been to Lex of Alexandria and Pohanka Lex of Chantilly gave me the 450 quote for 75k (i'll be calling the rest of the area dealers in the morning just to be totally thorough). It's just that I recall my 60k in Ohio being about $200 (maybe a wee more but not much).
2nd ?---Any recommendations are most welcome on dealers and also private shops in my area.
As always, I appreciate everyone's insight.
-Hawk
PS --Mods...i know there's a maintenance section, but thought that was for more specific problems. Apologize if this is not the right forum, but if we could keep it here at least a little while since so many more people browse this section--greatly appreciated.

There is a member here BradGS4 who works at Lindsay Lexus in their service dept. I'd look him up on here or call there and ask for him. At least you know you'll be getting as fair a deal as you can from the dealership.

I want to do some much to the car, but i'm gonna take it slow...or try to. Glad to be a part of the community.

Welcome to the Metro Area, I usually go to annapolis for my lexus maintenance. I have a local shop here in upper marlboro, maryland that also does pretty good work. Albotts Auto Service in Forestville, Maryland. There's a member at Beltsville Toyota that can hook u up also. His name is Marlon tell him the crew from ClubLexus Maryland sent you. Have any questions about the area hit me up. And don't forget to joing the NELOC on here. Good luck on your search.

I've been to 3 dealers for my GS400 in VA; Pohanka, Lindsay and Ourisman Toyota at Fairfax.
I get my oil changes at Toyota, and other stuff at Lindsay now.
Pohanka is definitely not recommended. Their price is usually higher than any other Lexus dealer and the workmanship is bad. My car was damaged twice. Even a simple oil change, the tech over filled radiator and it overflowed. I had pretty good service at Lindsay in Alex. with good price. Their new service building is great, with one whole side of the bay is glass so you can see your car being serviced.
