I'm going for the sport/show style on my car. Eventually I'm going to get a CF hood and paint the sides white and only leave the center piece CF. Then roof is going to be black as well. Of course those are only going to added after turbo and the Vertex body kit is installed . My goal eventually is to grab a trophy at a big event such as HIN or something of that scale

Its not VIP if your going for VIP, CF and VIP I don't think match but its a real nice look if your going for that style. I've been debating doing a CF hood and grill for a bit with a Blue Kandy clear painting the sides oem blue aswell. Its not Ricey at all. Many guys have done it. Burten just 2 toned his car with a CF hood and it looks awesome, as long as you stay with a clean scheme you'll be fine. Now if you start to throw in Huge wings, fake CF stickers and mirrors, Fake CF inside dash kit, and start putting Lexus decals all over your car than you are walking the fine line of rice..

I have not seen the VIS GS hood, but I have seen VIS hoods in the past and they are OK, but I would go with a SEIBON hood. I am on my second due to an accident and the fit is exelent.
Just my 2 cents

I want to do CF bits myself, but still looking weighing my options. Fitment and durability are my main concerns, and i am doing my homework on that. CF is standard on BMW M6, M3 CSL, Ferarri, and many exotics and sport luxury sedans. Just look at this ACschnitzer M5 with CF bits http://www.worldcarfans.com/tuners.c...01/country/gcf It is classy and sporty if done correctly. It is not rice in my opinion.

I also want to do a CF hood and paint it silver along the sides in a similar way that another member painted his CF hood and the leave a center section black with the grille painted black to match it.
I would do this for one main reason - reduce some weight on the car. Yes, that may sound like a stupid reason to some, but to me, it makes sense. I think I just added about 100 lbs to my car with the recent audio upgrade and even though the car does not feel much different in terms of pick-up, that extra weight still bothers me. Dunno why............

I think the CF hood on your black GS would look great. It wont stick out too much. But I wouldnt do the CF on the pillers, thats a bit much and doesnt look good on the GS. I saw an E46 M3 that was blue and he had a CF hood and the body shop did a very light coat of the blue paint and some clear and from a distance it didnt look CF but up close you could see the weave, looked great and was more of an understated CF look

i was going to paint the sides of my hood white, and then the roof black but after reading this thread i see i wouldn;t be the only one. but here is a pic of a cf hood on the white. i know your whip is black, but maybe this will help. best wishes
... and now that i look at it...it does kinda stand out too much, no ?

I think a plain CF hood sticks out a little too much on a whtie car unless you blend it in a little more. Blend meaning: Have the sides of the hood painted white and leave the center CF then paint the roof black. I think it looks kinda weird if the roof isnt black, and the sides of the hood aren't painted white. Dunno...maybe too big of a black piece in one region.
