Default new wheels

I needed some new tires and ended up with wheels too. I got a good deal on these 18 inch wheels so I went for it. I guess no one wants teenage size wheels anymore, which is why I thnk I got a deal. I wanted 18x 8s anyway. Wanted to keep some comfort and this is my everyday ride. The inserts came in black. I custom painted them to match the car. I know, I know, I have to get my GS4 lowered. However, I am about 5k away from my 90k service, and I think that is lilltle more important right now. I also live in the Chicago area, where the winter can be brutal with a lot of snow. Should I lower my car living in this climate, taking that this is my everyday ride? I got Perelli PZeroNeros. These tires ride beautiful!

congrats on the upgrades to 18's Glad to hear the ride is to your liking too, especially in an area where the roads may not be the best for upgraded wheels. What else do you have planned down the line in terms of mods (after the 90k service is out of the way)?

I in up in the air on lowering the car taking where I live and the winter months. Unless I get another car to drive during trhe winter months. I am planning on upgrading the exhaust with a Borla system. I am also painting my calipers within the next few weeks. I want to upgrade the air intake, but I dont want the car to be loud. I like the subtle but I will kick your a-- appeal. I hear the Boral system is subtle but noticeable when you hit that pedal.

I like the color match on the spokes, nice and subtle. Is it just me or it looks like the front wheel whas the wrong offset, looks like it sticks out of the fender a bit

The wheels look good . I have seen a LX up here with 22" DaVinci's with color matched spokes, a nice and unique choice.

Don't drive in the winter with those wheels man. Just put some snow tires on your original wheels and drive with those until the weather clears. That way your nice wheels and tires stay nice. They look really nice by the way .

thats what I do in the winter...........

Dont knock being on 18's

you will probably be surprised when this whole crap-bling-big-as-possible-cheap-azz-wheel thing goes away. Sooner or later all of these clowns who are squeezing 21's and 22's on a GS (not to mention other cars) are going to get sick of bending wheels and having to replace them, sending wheels back due to cheap chroming/ poor quality, etc. May that day come very soon.

Thanks for the compliments. I do plan on taking wheels off during winter and going back to the stock 16s. My question was should I lower the car taking into consideration where I live where you can get alot of snow in the winter. Believe me, I am not knocking 18s. That was the only size I was willing to go with. I was just commenting on the good prices you can get on 18s because everyone is looking for 20s or larger. The front wheels are flush with the fenders. Pirellis are fat tires so it kind of gives the appearance of sticking out some.

I was about to say but I didnt notice the wheels are color matched. Nice job letting the car make the wheels and not the wheels make the car.

I was up in the air at first about these wheels until I got them. They looked nice on the car even without the color matched inserts. That made the wheels more BLING BLING. I didn't want that. I like subtle upgrades trhat give the car a clean customized look and not the BLING BLING effect. I thought color matching the inserts would achieve that and I think it did for the most part. I have nothing against bling. I am just a laid back guy.
