Unhappy gs300 vs is300

Can someone tell me if a stock 2001 is300 auto w/eshift would be able to beat a gs300 with srt intake/ecu,exhaust,and torque converter?

Neither car is fast but the IS300 has the weight-advantage.

The GS300 may have the SRT intake and ECU, exhaust, and torque converter but none of these mods really gives the GS300 the advantage. If we were talking about a GS400/430 the torque converter would give significant increase to the GS, but a GS400/430 would kill the IS300 anyways.

I'd say it would be a close race. But even with the mods on the GS, I say the weight-advantage that the IS300 has is more significant. The IS might edge the GS out.

I can tell you, that was the setup I had minus the torque converter. The only difference was that it was a five speed and we were on the highway. I was able to walk away from him but not that quickly.

Stock IS will win. Does 0-60 in low 7s, the GS 300 does it in high 7s.

Same engine, almost the same power, the GS is about 300lbs heavier

The IS300 handles better, stops better, is faster, if you get a stick its a very fun car to drive, mods are available till no tommorow.
The GS300 is waaaaay bigger, more comfortable, much greater PIMP factor with some 20's and a drop.
Both cars look, feel, drive totaly different - made for different purposes, to each his own, I suggest you drive both for some time and come to your conclusion, they are both beautiful cars.
MPG is the same

A matter of taste. I love the 1IS looks as well, very taunt and muscalur like the GS and to be stock for stock a better fit.

i do like the GS modded more than a modded IS

The 2GS and 1IS really went after Euro proportions, long wheelbase, short overhangs.

From a dead stop (light to light) I would have to agree, but on the highway or top end I don't think so. I would have won that race at the dragstrip if I didn't red light, I was still ahead by 1/2 a car. A win is a win though.
