Anyone with Eclipse AVN 2454 AVN2454? Help needed.
Hi CL,
I purchased an Eclipse AVN2454, and for some reason the navi voice only comes from the driver side speaker (when it tells you to make turns, etc.). Is this only supposed to come from one speaker, or was it hooked up incorrectly by my audio installer?
I can barely make out the voice because my sound system overpowers it, even though the Eclipse unit automatically lowers the volume when the navi voice talks.
Thank you!
Michael Hsu

It's a good system. However, when I had it installed the person that did the install said that he used to have it and the preamps (at least that's what I think he called it) were so weak that he got rid of it and went with a different brand GPS system.
I like it and it suits my needs, other than the fact that since I have a sound system in my car I can barely hear the gps navi voice.

i have a full stereo system in my gs as well. also have the 2454. the sound does just come out of the drivers side speaker, thats just how its set up. there is a setting to raise the voice of the nav chick but its all within reason.. if youre system is turned up so loud that you cant even hear the nav voice talking over it when its time for a turn, you must not be that concerned with where youre going anyway and should just use a map. theres also concern that if its that loud you cant hear other drivers if someones honking at you, or hear an ambulances or fire trucks sirens coming from one of those barreling down the road right behind you that you should pull over for but wont because youre oblivious because youre eclipse is set to 80. turn the voice all the way up and if youre actually trying to use the voice guided nav and not the on screen display, just use some common sense and turn the tunes down a little, and it will also lower it even more when the voice comes on. i have a full ADS setup in my interior, eclipse aluminum 12s and a set of powerful eclipse amplifiers pushing everything i listen to my music loud and never have a problem with the voice and being able to hear it.
