If you end up buying the roof rack, each manufacturer sells various racking options for skis, snowboards, surfboards, etc. This way you won't have to mess with the back seat thing.

Bump did you ever get a pass through put in?

I was thinking if I could get the parts from an ES (since it has a pass through), i could rig them to work in the GS.

Does anybody have pics they can post of how a snowboard fits through a hole cut out of the back seat?

I haven't seen any pics of it done but I don't think it'll fit at all. The hole where the armrest is pretty small. This is an old thread so maybe someone did it. First off you need to cut the rear upper seat, rubber liner behind the seat and through the trunk panel. It wouldn't be hard but will look ugly. Or custom a pass through from another car (ES) as suggested from IS0LD0UT. I can see skis or snowblades working though.

There is a member here somewhere who made a pass through for his JL sub. I will search for him.

I take it back, that might just work. Just watch out for the leather though.
