Default Car not starting

I've had a problem with the car not starting a few times. The car gets a boost and it starts, but when i got the battery and starter tested the wher fine. So someone told me that it might be a securtiy thing. He said to put the parking break on and turn the light setting from auto to off. Well whenever the car doesnt start i do that and it works.

Has this happend to anyone else?

it could be the contacts on your starter. I had this issue. I had the starter replaced since I had everything taken off. I used an NSA starter and got the gaskets that were needed and starter contacts from Carson Toyota. The starter contacts and gaskets are not too much, around $80 or so I think. I went on Ebay and got an NSA starter which ran be about $180.

I had the same symptoms before, clicking when starting and it finally starts. Better to fix it sooner than later...

Thanks. I had the car diagnosed at the lexus dealership here and they didnt find anything wrong with the starter but i think I'll have it replaced anyway just in case.

So i should tell them to change the starter and the gaskets and contacts or just the starter?
