Film on my Wheels?
I washed my car after this ENTIRE week of crazy thunderstorms and crazy rain... so after I washed the car I looked at my wheel and it looks like a small patch of the rim is shinier and brighter than the rest of the rim.. is this bad? should i just peel the rest of this film type stuff off and make the wheel match? i don't know what to do.. is there a fix? can i just use polish on it and it'll kind of blend together better?
thanks in advance.

for the most part if the clearcoat is coming off, that is bad. the only fix for this is to remove the rest of the clearcoat. The problem with that is that the metal will likely get tarnished and will need more frequent cleaning/polishing. The other thing is that the metal will be more susceptible to becoming stained since the clearcoat helps to prevent staining. You could try to have someone re-clearcoat the rim, but I don't think many places will do this since the clearcoat for the rim is apparently different from clearcoat for the car. I may be wrong, but that is what I was told when this happened to one of my sets of rims. If it is small, I wouldn't mess with it.

Right, cleacoat for wheels are different from clearcoat for paint finishes. if its small leave it alone for now until you can find a shop that clearcoats wheels than have them strip the clearcoat and relear it.

I had the clearcoat removed on the lips of my wheels. Had it sanded off and high polished. Could not be happier. Clear coat is a form of paint, thus it will pit and peel in time. Just have a body shop remove the clear coat on all the wheels, and polish the lips with mothers wheel polish
