Exclamation Weird Mirror Problem GS400...

Hey Guys,

I searched but to no avail, i dont have any pictures of it but i have a 2000 GS400 and i have a question about the mirrors, my driver side mirror has a light greenish tint and my passenger side is a blue tint... is that normal to have two different colors? i think it looks funny and would like to change it, is that a pain in the neck? Or can i just buy the glass insert instead of the entire side mirror?

Thanks,
Josh

Your mirrors are electrochromatic, darken with the inside rear view mirror. WHat your seeing is the break down of the system. You can get new glass from the dealer, I think the last one I priced was about 2-3 hundred, they may be heated also. The tinge usually starts on the edges, I didn't notice mine till I replace one, then noticed it on the other when compared.

Same issue here (one purplish and the other green/brownish), but I only notice it in my parking garage at work. Maybe it's just the angle we're looking at them. I wonder if the colors would reverse if you sat in the passenger seat.

I did a little checking with my parts manager. The glass that is changing on you is about $350.00. You may be able to get the none heated none darkening glass for under $80.00.

Just an option.
