alright, after a wasted spray can, i went and bought the stripper-x gel based container and also bought myself those cheap 1 dollar brush.
got home, wiped the grilles....waitttt 15 mins and washhed it all off. works like a charm! and yeah between the slats is hard to get but no one will really go up to your car and notice between the slats. mine looks good since my gs is silver

so the gel based ones work better? the spray looks easier..but i want the best results..heres what ive gathered so far from this thread on the steps using the spray klean strip..

1.take grill off car
2.spray klean strip all over grill
3.wait 3-10 mins..(however long it takes til u see bubbling?)
4.scrub off
5.then hose it
6.put grill back on car
7.admire ur work and pat urself on the back for a job well done

someone correct me on the steps if im wrong ..i wanna do this to my 2000 grill but wanna make sure i got the steps correct..thx

GET the gel based one, about 7 bucks its called kleanstrip stripper-x, works very well and make sure you buy a brush too!

oh and never let the paint stripper stay on your grille too long, it will slowly melt parts of the grille!

man..i jus tried it today using the gel based strip-x..**** is not as easy as it looks..i dont know if i let it sit for to short or too long..but it wasnt coming off as smooth as i expected..and gettin in between the vertical slants is a biotch! no brush i had worked..screw driver is too small to work on the whole thing..i had to go get some steel wool and try to get some of the hard to reach places off..but damn..3hrs later..still not finished..ima put it off til another day to get everything..

let it sit for about 20 mins, 1st apply for 10, then do another 10 and then get a hose and high pressure spray it off.

then you can finish it off with a clean cotton towel
