I got rims first,,,,,well I got had to get 2 sets the first set wasnt any good they keep cracking but rim are more then coilovers so they would be easier to get I think. But I got my coilovers the next week so I would see and feel the differents ,,,, but thats just my 2 cents lol!

i actually prefer a lift kit with 24's
couple that with some extremely stretched tires with a 25 series sidewall and you're good to go

i would just keep it stock till i had enough money for the coil overs and the rims to be installed all at once. if you go lower with stock rims or stock sus with aftermarket rims they both have there positives and negatives. but thats just my .02

lowering a lexus on stock 16s reminds me of cheap honda civics with chopped springs and black steel wheels bouncing all over the road. the least you can do is try to find some oem 17s. the 16s just don't cut it.
i would do 20s with a nice drop before rolling stock wheels.

hey fellas,
excuse the newbie status, but what kind of springs would you recomend to lower my GS? would you recomend springs and shocks? what did some of you guys use? some of you guys cars look gorgeous as hell but why the wider rim in the rear? I know the front has caliper issues, (figured that one out the hard way..) just looking for some enlightenment too hook up my GS, I probably won't get it as nice as some of you guys, but I can try!!..lol special shout out to SoCal your vehicle is an insparation! those Zone 8's are nasty!

you don't have to have a stagger set up. it's just something people do for looks, others for performance and some for both. i had my car for about a month of all four 8.5 width wheels. But i was not for me or for the car, that's just my personal taste. now for lowering. it is recommended to chenge struts, but you don't have too. i have df210 tanabe springs and love the way it sits. 2" drop in front and 1.5" in back with 20" wheels. stagger, the width is8.5f/10.5r.

what wheels do you have, stock 17s? i see in your sig that you have supra tt calipers. 17s are not that bad, way better than 16s. 19s and 20s i have not heard of anyone doing that. the only cars i have ever seen with a set up like that is the vett 17s front 18s back and prowler 18f/20r. i would say just be carefull not to have a big gap left on front wheel well.
