Default Lowered on Stock wheels VS. Big Wheels on stock height??

Alright, I've had enough pondering on this problem myself, so I need some help! The problem I'm facing is basically, funds. I can either afford coilovers OR wheels/tires. And whatever I get is what I'm going to have to live with for a WHILE. (buying a house=more important than more money to my baby )

my question is simple: would you rather drive around on stockers with TEIN coilovers...OR...ride around on 20's at the stock height. The one I'm leaning towards is the wheels first. my reasoning is because of the sportline kit which could HELP it look lower than it really is. I'll try to post a poll but if it fails, can a mod help me out???

But any help/advice would be great...thanks guys!

i'd go w/ the wheels... plus, you get to keep the smooth riding susp. your car already has...

Id say lower it first-- tires wont look as small with it being lowered. On the other hand if you get the big 20" it could look like a 4x4 somewhat.

I lowered mine first and then got the rims.. I couldn't stand the small rims, because the GS is a big sedan and with the 17" rims it looked like Hulk Hogan in high heels

Lower it, I did and I am very happy waiting for the wheels. Seeing a GS with 20's riding high is just not pretty. Mine only has the stock 16's and she looks alright.

No contest: get the coilovers all day, any day, 365 days of the year. .

Many people here love the Tein CS (though it's not my cup of tea). Either way, a good set of coilovers will dramatically transform your ride and make the car appear WAY better than ANY set of wheels riding stock height.

Do yourself a favor, get the coils...

From somebody that rode around on 20" @ stock height at first and now on Tein CS with stock rims......do the drop and get the rims later. I look at old pics of my car with the 20's before the drop and I cringe every time.

I would say lower it first, I rode around with 19's and no drop for a while and it looked terrible.

Default In the words of Rominal

"It would look a hundred times better if you lowered it"

Coilovers first if you can't get rims. Lowered on stock rims is WAY better than a 4x4 GS on 20s.

Dump it first.

I installed my H&R coilovers the same day they arrived via UPS - just two days after I purchased the car.
The car still rides great, with a high quality suspension system- mine is pretty low now (I've adjusted it down three times; the back is now all the way down).

20" wheels on a stock-height car make you look like a ******.

Joel, with your lowered 16", do you get scraping issues on your chassis whenever you go over a hump?

If I had to choose it would be lower on stock and wait for wheels.
