I will put the 'L' on today when I pick it up from the dealer after the install of my LTuned stuff; I'll decie then if I will keep it on; I pretty sure I'll like it....

This is the TRD, not the JDM; (I still don't know the difference between the 2 companies related to this grill, don't care really) even though they look identical, the extra $ wasn't worth it since I was having it painted anyway...Per Steve, and to the best of my understanding, The TRD only comes in CF with black mesh - the JDM comes in the colors you mentioned above $350.

The grille looks very tight on your car!
Maybe, certainly I can see more than I expected. Once I place the L on, I'll see if it diffuses the attention of it. If not, I'll pull a Globe and pick up some different mesh of my own choosing and install it. Hey, on anther side, better cooling efficiency!

Mesh charateristics, now that I think about it, was a secondary concern to fit, finish, quality, trim shape, and not paying for a prepainted trim piece that I was going to repaint anyway. I know it was painted CF already, but 200 vs. 350 is a no brainer.

Thanks all for the compliments so far!

Dexter,

Saw it at the dealer this morning and IMO the grille looks great! They hadn't started doing your suspension install yet at 8:30am.

Not sure if I'd even put the 'L' back on it looks so good as is. It's a kinda dark rainy day in Charlotte this morning, so seeing beyond the mesh wasn't an issue.

Thanks D.

I went by there on my way out to PC place and almost got the run around - they got slammed this morning with drive ins, and their computer system was down. My Rep wanted to know if he could get it to me Mon.

Nope, sorry I gotta have it today, I'm leaving town tomorrow afternoon; that's why I made the appt 3 weeks ago, and, confirmed it Monday. I mean cm'on, I paying you by the hour to do ~5 hrs of work.....

At that point, I saw the light bulb come on over his head, with $$ right beside it, also making the realization that my $ was far and above the oil changes and inspections of the other cars flooding them today. He was 'yeah, OK, I understand, no problem we'll get it done...'

He was really cool, a guy about our age. He said they'll say overtime to get it done if need be. I'm glad because I woud blow up otherwise....

Part of me 'cool, thats the attitude to have', then the other part was like 'somebody should have had the foresight to see this and my car should have in the bay at 8 sharp being worked on' Oh well, I should have it today anyway....

I like it with the L. Looks more classy with it. Sorry but somehow a blue GS with that type of mesh grill without the L reminds me of a Civic Si.

Dexter,

Seeing how you have Black Pearl badging on the rear, I thought you'd go ahead and get a Black Pearl "L" for the front too? I think this would definitely make the car more uniform and the fact that the 'L' is darker would be a good compromise between L and no L because it blends in with the mesh slightly. Plus I think it'd look way cooler

I would definantly go with the "L". I like Intellexual's idea about the black pearl badging. Dexter, your car looks great - I'm glad to see it repaired.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I mounted it today.

I echo the comment about the Si look. I've seen a lot of those before. I thought about the black pearl option, but felt it would blend in too much. Another reason I like it: the chrome L sets off, accentuates, the lights; good color balance; and the L is just beautiful.

Dude,

It looks SPECTACULAR with the electric blue. Personally, I like it without the L just because you can come up fast and the person you're going to pass don't know who and what is coming until you've passed him/her and they then can see your REAR END that it was a Lexus just smok'em.

Again, the paint really bring out the look of your grille.
