I doubt the engine was damaged at all in that car. Idling a car is putting the least amount of stress on everything. Sure it might not be cooling as well as if it were being driven, but that's what a good radiator and fans are for. Cars barely use any fuel at idle, so how can it be washing the cylinder walls off? I'd like to see that one. Now if this guy had a brick on the gas pedal holding the RPMS at a higher RPM for that time, then I would worry about it. But I'm pretty sure Lexus designs their cars and engines very well!

I'm with SRK for the technical reasons he's already mentioned.
Certainly running any car like that is inefficient as hell, and it's going to put wear on parts that isn't reflected in the odometer. I doubt the wear is much different than a cross-country trip.
Cylinder wash would only potentially occur when under a heavy load or with the engine running in a rich mode for another reason. Lexus engines are either Low Emissions or Ultra Low Emissions aren't they? This comes from a clean burn of the air/fuel mixture.
Regarding the low oil pressure, it's true, it's much much lower, but the engine is not under load either so you don't really need 30-50psi of oil pressure.
Someone mentioned that Semi trucks idle for long periods of time frequently. I have to concur!
