Default Problem with TTE lip install

I just recently installed my TTE and the paint shop used double sided tape to keep the lip and bumper together. It seems now that the double sided tape is not holding up and it's kind of coming apart. What should I do?? Thanks for the help.

When u bought the lip did it come with adhesive glue. If it did u are suppose to put it on and not use the double sided tape. It will fall rite off. Go back to the shop and see if they can put adhesive glue on for u.

They didn't use the glue, could I just add that with the tape?

Check the Southwest forum about the TTE lip and taping it on. Basically, glue it or loose it!

The TTE lip usually comes with the black adhesive glue...and a few screws.

Double sided tape is not strong enough.

Audio28,

It is not advisable to use double sided tape.

Thanks to the advice from the CL members;
Try using a polyurethane adhesive to bond the lip and the bumper together. Remember to use strong masking tapes to hold them (Bumper Vs Lip) together during the first 6 hours after application and make sure to cover any "gaps". I did not use the molding approach and i am quite satisfied with my accomplishment!

Cheers!
