Default License plate lights ??

I've noticed on the newer GS, IS and ES models that the license plate lights are almost like a Halogen or light blue. If I go buy the blue filmed lights from Pep Boys Would it have the same effect? Has anyone else done this? Or should I just install a 4k HID kit

I say go with the LED wedge lights (white)...you won't be disappointed. That's what the new GS's have anyways. You will get the same effect with the same color.

no all u have to do is pop ur trunk take out enough clips to pull back the black lining u will see 2 connections that u just turn and remove and u will see the bulbs they are 194 wedge bulbs. the whole process shouldnt take no more than 5min tops.

i just took mine out and noticed im having a hard time getting the bulbs out of the socket. I tried lubing one of them with wd40 but its still stuck. I ended up breaking one of the bulbs. Any ideas on how to get them out?

I put Polarg M4's in mine and they resemble very much the updated GS look.

They looK very cool at night and cover most of the area.

IMO I think LED bulbs have a more directional lighting form and dont cover all the area uniformly.

Would have to agree, I put the wedge bulbs and It looked just like the pic above. IMO the M4 would do you good, plus you don't have an excuse for cops to pull you over, or Ricers to take a good look at your lic # as you smoke em wooooooooooo
