Hey guys I'm looking at two GS3 Sport Design cars I was wondering what you think I should try ot get as far as price is concerned. Both cars check out on Carfax and seem to be in reasonable shape.
Car #1
~ 2002 51K miles (some Factory Warranty Left !)
~ Black / Black
~ Navigation
~ Non-Lexus Dealer
~ Asking $21K
Car #2
~ 2002 73K miles
~ Black / Black
~ Navigation
~ Private Owner Sale
~ Asking $19K
Whichever one I decide on I will take down to a Lexus dealer and have a PPI done. If you were in my shoes what would you offer and why ?
I'm hoping to be an 'official' GS owner soon.
Thanks,
Dave

I would lean towards #1 since it still has the factory warranty intact. I recently purchased a 2002 Sport Design/Nav/Levinson with 41k miles for $22000. I immediately took it to my local Lexus dealer after my first car wash to replace the internal condensation on the headlamps. That alone would have cost me $700 if it was out of warranty.
I'd still recommend haggling the price down a bit, but having that warranty intact was a nice plus for me so I could get all the defects repaired free of charge and spend my money on future mods.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

" Lexus warranty is a 4year 50,000 mile bumper-to-bumper and a 6 year 70,000 powertrain." How come you still have "(some Factory Warranty Left !)",If that is the case i will choose the car with warranty >there is always some thing that not working properly or defective that the dealer can take care of.Besides you can get a loaner and test the new GS300
.
I recently bought a certified 2003 GS Sportdesign w/33K on the clock. So far repairs done :
New seatbealts driver and passenger, new trunk shocks , brakes reinspected.clips replaced on passenger windshield side trim ( It was a little movement nothing mayor) and rear wheel front splash guard re-attached new clips. all for $0,00.
At 51K and 4 years your car is still new, mate.
If you want really peace of mind , buy a CPO.( three-year/100,000-total-vehicle-mile warranty from date of purchase, new car finance rates, 24 hour roadside assistance.
Good luck in your purchase and don't forget the pictures.....
