Smile What's the quietest tires for 18"?

Just got some 18" rims and looking for advice on tires. Right now, my thoughts are buying Yokohama AVS 245/40/18's. I'd like to have a quiet and smooth ride. Any ideas? Please post ASAP, want to get them this week!

Thanks,
Maxedout1

The AVS Sports will get louder as they wear. Good stick though.

If you are looking for a nicer ride and quiet tire, but some performance, try Pirelli P Zero Rosso's. I had a set of Bridgestone S-02's on before. THe Rosso's are quieter and have a nicer ride. THe S-02's gripped better though and are more aggressive looking. But the S-02's were louder than the Rosso's.
S-03's I have heard are nice but since they are new I am hearing different opinions. They are told to grip real good wet/dry and last longer than the S-02's did. SOme people say the S-02's are still better at the track.
Toyo T1-S is a decent tire and costs less. There is some road noise but I have heard less than the AVS Sports.
If I had to get a set now, I would try the Toyo T1-S and see how they do. DOnt get me wrong the S-02's were nice but they dont come in my size anymore. The Rosso's were free from European Car Mag for a pic contest so no buyer loyalty involved in the decisions.

Oops, I automatically thought Sports, I do not know how the others AVS series ride.

Dunlop SP9000 are decent tires too. Saw the other post. Friend has them and they seem to be fine.

quiet and smooth, go with Yokohama AVS dBs (I assume the ones you're talking about). I have them and they're alot smoother and quieter than my stock tires.

I had the dunlop SP9000 on my car they are awsome preformance tyres but not the quitest out there, I switched to kumho I think they are thee best bang for the buck, they preform just as good as my dunlops ( if not better ), there quiter than the dunlops, and they only cost $130 for 245/45 ZR's

Thumbs up tires! Tires! Tires!

Well, after careful consideration, I think I will go with the Yokohama DBs..... read a lot of info regarding them....

Thanks for the feedback!

Is the noise really that noticable? I've been using different brands of tyres and to me, they are all the same (noise levelwise).

Thats true. Though, I believe that 16,17, and 18 inch tires will pretty much have the same level of noise. But when you go to 19, and 20's, then choosing the right tire will be critical.

I just never upgrade my rims larger than 18" but it's good to know that tyres are critical on 19" + rims.

A side question, how does the ride quality when you compare between 18" and 20". Once again, is it noticable?
