Default GS400 (3.266) Rear on SC300 (4.27)?

Hey guys, I usually post in the SC forums, but maybe you guys can help me. I currently have an SC300 auto with the 4.27 rear end. Im looking at getting a 00+ GS400 rear (3.266) and doing a swap into my SC. Anyone know if this will work? Im lookin at changing the entire carrier assembly, not just the internals (differential)

From my research, it looks like Supra/GS/SC diffs should all be interchangable. But I cant seem to find any solid info. I wouldnt know which axles I would need to run. .etc.

Edit: i have no idea what i was talking about. i was probably high off something..

Well im going to be going 6 speed by the end of hte year. So if I stay with my 4.27 gearing, my rpms will be pretty crappy. From what I gather, ill be at around 3500rpm while cruising at 70mph. Maybe not htat bad, but it wont be too good.

Im also going ot be swapping in a 2JZGTE, so I dont want to be shifting in and out of boost. I want the longer gears to stay in boost as long as I can. Apparently a 6 speed supra TT dosent even hit 5th gear in a quarter mile.

When I did my gte 6 speed swap into my SC, it took me 6 months to find a supra 6 speed rear end (3.13).

Now that I'm swapping in a getrag into my gs300, I'm going with a gs400 rear end with the 3.26 gearing instead of my stock 3.9X. Just to save me some cash and the wait.

I will also be putting in either a cusco LSD ot a TRD.

*also, since i'm going with a 400 rear end, I wont have to change out the left axle that the supra 6 speed one needs.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. So your saying I can use the NA left axle? After doing some math, all in all, the diffs come out to around the same price (minus axle price). $1000-1300 for a 6 speed rear, or $900-1200 for a GS400-TRD LSD. But I just cant find a darn 6 speed rear.

Do you know if this will bolt up? I can pick up a GS400 3.26 right now, and if it bolts up, I may jump on it. From what I can tell the SC/GS/Supra all share the same subframe.

I have a 3.26 rear diff from my GS430 that's available - had about 30K miles on it when I switched over to the 3.76lsd. The guy who was going to take it, changed his mind. The cost is free but you have to pay shipping. PM me if interested.
