Should I get a GS4 over my Audi A4??
Ok, I'm sure people ask questions like this all the time, but I could really use some of you higher mileage GS4 guys advice.
I have an 02 Audi A4 3.0 quattro with Sport package, fully loaded. I love this car, but daily driving it, it doesn't get great gas mileage. So I was thinking of replacing it with a GS4 with higher miles as my DD.
So my dilema is
A4 w/30k miles or 1999 GS4 blk/blk w/100k miles
I don't feel like modding the A4 at all.....but with the GS, I'd like to lower it with some nice deep dish 19's(iforged or hre's)
I figure the GS4 will depreciate less, and maintenance cost will be less as well. It's just have all services done, including 90k, brakes, tires, a/c. The A4 costs me $90 bucks every 3000 miles, but the GS430 only costs me $35 bucks every 5000 miles. Plus the Audi is slow, the GS4 is lot faster. Plus I like rwd. I'm going to check out the blk GS4 tomorrow after work, but wanted some advice.
What to do??? Any inisight would be greatly appreciated...

Well, yeah, the A4 is a great car, no doubt. But my buddy works at Audi and always warns me of the costly repairs.
I don't own the GS430 any longer. My plan is to sell the A4 for a GS400 to loosen up some cash as well. The A4 goes for about $22k, this GS400 that I'm looking at is $13k with 100k miles. So in my mind, I'm wonder how soild the GS with 100k miles compared to the Audi.
Plus, I want to start modding something again, and I don't care to mod the A4, as it's pretty slow. The GS4 on the other hand, has some nice power and looks killer with the right drop and wheels.
I think I already have my mind made, I'm just looking for some reasons to not to jump on this GS4.
Thanks again,

ps- I see I need to update my sig....

Why? The A4 is an excellent car. It has better build quality than the GS4, Quattro all wheel drive for the rainy seasons, and has racing history behind it, and more fun to drive. Interchangeable parts with Porshe like the brakes. Darn good car. Gas mileage will be close to a stock Gs4. Keep the Audi. Can I have an Audi RS4 please

I cant comment on the Audi as I have never had one, but will probably never buy one due to cost of repairs and other things.
I had an older gs3 and it was a great car, it needed a bit of work right at 100K but with the right mechanic looking at it and the forum to help you through any issues that arise, I would have to with the gs4 especially if it will free up some cash to mod with.

I had an Audi A6 2.7T before my GS430. I really liked the Audi. It was a very easy car to drive, had great build quality and really good performance. I imagine the A4 is very similair in those qualities but just smaller. However, the GS has the V8 which I really like. I was like you and wanted to do some modding is why I bought the Lexus. The resale on the GS is really good as well. If I where you I would go with the GS400. Change the suspension, put some great wheels on it, a body kit and an exhaust. You will be way happier . 100K on the ODO is nothing for the GS. I get about 16-17MPG driving in the city with my 430. Good luck

gs4 repairs are not costly? Just search this forum onproblems that crop up and the costs. No car is trouble free. Timely maintainence is the key to a less problematic vehicle. Yes, Audi A4 has better build quality than a GS4. It is more solid as if it was bulit with a single piece of granite.

A4 and he hung up on me.
If you're going to drive an Audi, I'd rather get a BMW.

Thanks again for the advice, I just needed to hear others with the same opinion as mine!
