I've tried searching, but can't find anything definitive...Can you swap the GS430 wood steering wheel into the 300 or 400's? If not, is there any Lexus (airbag equipped) wood-grained wheel that can be swapped in?

the gs430 airbag won't fit on the gs300/400 coz' it's dual stage. you will need the 2001 rx300 airbag

and gs430 doesn't have sport shift, so if you put it on gs300 it's fine but gs400 you lose that function.

I have one for sale that will fit your car exactly but is from an ES. The wood is a bit redder than the GS wood. I bought two of them and had the leather changed out on one of them for my car. I can send you a picture if you are interested.

They can take the regular 300/400 steering wheel and work in the wood? Or is it an overlay that covers the entire wheel?

For $450 it is definitely not an overlay. They remove the existing leather and add wood grain of your choice and then cover the rest in brand new leather to match your interior. Check out their website, http://www.american-stitches.com/, and do some searching on CL and you will find they are very good. There used to be groupbuys when they were a CL vendor but they dropped off the vendor list and just offer a 10% discount, the price of the groupbuy. Their website looks like **** when compared but dont let it fool you.

Fabulous, that price is very nice...I found the lexstasy site, and the pricing was--yeow! I like the look of wood and all, but for two grand I can do a lot of other things!
