I am into cars, suv's, just automobiles in general. I'm very observant of what cars are out there and what people do to their cars. Whether it be the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generations of GS, I really don't see a whole lot of them. I'm originally from the NY metro area and I see more Mercedes and BMW's out there especially BMW's new Three-Series. Even with the Lexus models, I see more of the LS but more so the RX suv's. I hardly see the new GS out there besides the guy who parks his close to mine at the Park & Ride when I go to work. It's something I thought about while stuck in traffic and the rain last night. So with that, does the GS do well in terms of sales?

Not as well as the 5 series, I can tell you that. I don't recall the exact numbers but I think it is something like 5,000 5 series sold per month and around 3,000 GS. I think the new one (2006+) has done better.
The GS has always been a relatively rare car. First of all not many people have the scratch to pony up $45k+ for a new GS, so there just aren't that many sold each year. If you look at the 5 series on the road, most are 528's or 530's, the cheaper models. Rare is a 540, 545 or 550.
BTW, I took a Japanese visitor for a ride in my GS and they said it was a very popular model in Japan. They have better taste than Americans I guess!
