Question gs dont want to start

my car been acting weird, it happen once a month my car dont want to start ,it just giving me one click every time i turn the key, i have to keep on playing with it untill it starts. i went to advanceauto they check my battery, and altinator and there fine, now my gest is the starter . what do you gys think?

fisrt thing to do if you already havent is check the connections on your terminals. If either one is the least bit loose, you can have intermittent problems with starting, maintaing power while driving, etc. Just had this happen to me recently.

Could be the starter. Had that problem like a year ago.

had this problem about 3 weeks ago...turned out to be my battery...
if its not that or the alternator, you're probably looking at your starter

once the car start after that it run perfectly, lexus told me one click usualy mean starter.

it's your starter. i didn't want to face it, but eventually I did and now i'm glad I got it fixed.

As the others have stated, if the connections are tight and the battery/alternator are within specs that leaves the starter or ignition switch. The switch is working, what's left? Starters are a PIA and expensive to replace, I would opt for new not rebuilt one.

ebruce this happened to me also 2 weeks ago i took it int o lexus where kipod works and had them replace the terminals.. and i also bought a new battery

I had the same issue a while ago and for me it was the starter.
