I agree that an intake is not the best bang for the buck, go for the 3.75 LSD and higher stall torque convertor, it has proven performance gains

the safc will yield a noticeable difference though. bit has posted dynos that above 4k, there is about a 20+ hp/tq diff. max numbers are maybe 9-10 hp/tq more, but just do a search and im sure you can find his dyno around here.

400's usually run rich, so leaning it out a little will deff net some gains. however, you're gonna be looking to spend about 300 for the safc-2, and about another 200 for tuning. so, you really have to evaluate if its worth it over getting a supra rear end for just a little bit more.

As far as SRT power claims, I f I rememer correctly they post those meaning power at the crank. If you notice their dyno chart chow about 20hp and 30tq gain and they listed 30hp and 40tq gain..
The few people posted any dyno test w/ theit SRT also show again.Every seems mostly every that has it do complain/notice no improvement down low.
I didn't notice much on mine down low but mine always seem slugish ( maybe the altitude.) I there is a noticeable difference acelleratint or WOT.

As far as bang for the buck, matter of preference.$445 for 10-25hp in upper power band can be more appealing to some one than $200-650 for an exhaust that at most adds 5-8hp. but you get looks and sound.
But even w/ the TC at $800 Or 3.73 lsd you don't relly get there benefit unless you foot is in it or your
But, best day to day drivng and burst to pass, merging or just for the fun of it.would be TQ then 3.73 differrntial. My $.02
JUST fyi, some SRT's w/ dyno's:

Im surprised there is no chip available to remap everything. Seems a 4.0 V8 should be able to yield higher tq/hp just by tuning it better. In my Audi there is a chip that gives 50-65 HP/80+torque. Of course thats a turbo'd car, but seems like they should have "something" out that could do more... I just emailed GIAC (www.giacusa.com) to see if they had ever considered offering one, or have any plans in the future to do so.

The problem is that no one has been able to fully break the Toyota ECU.

Chris is right; the Toyota/Lexus cars don't have a conventional "chip" that controls all that stuff.

I have the SRT intake and ECU on my GS 400. I noticed no decrease in low rpm torque or response, but a noticeable gain at higher rpm, especially when the Vvt-i changever occurs at about 5,000 rpm. The sound is killer: the car has a nice hiss at moderate throttle openings (not noticeable with the windows up) and it really snorts when you boot it! Sounds wicked!

I believe the chips you see on Ebay are for RC cars No true performance chip is available buddy.
