Returning Lexus/CL member...
Hey all. Just wanted to make myself known around these parts again. 3 yrs. ago I had a pearl white SC300 and was a moderator on CL but I sold that and picked up my '93 Supra TT. However, I am now in an area where it snows in the winter and have picked up a '99 burnished gold GS300 (got it for a great deal from my parents) and have already started ordering parts for it. So, just wanted to say iits great to be back in the Lexus family and back on ClubLexus. SupraForums can get crazy and its nice to have a civilized forum to visit now. I'll post pics soon, but yes, when the car starts seeing real high mileage (its at 113,000 now), there will be a GTE swap in there .

EDIT: My old handle was MyLexusSC300 (for those who might remember me...)

Welcome back! I agree that is a helpfull and civil forum. I see that you mentioned snow in the winter. Do you plan on getting snow tires for your GS300? This will be my first winter with my GS and I've seen posts on how the GS doesn't stack up well in the snow. I intend on getting snow tires unless I hear different. And oh, welcome back again.

thanks guys....
mrg4life: the GS is NOT an ideal car for the winter. My original plan was to get a late 90's A8 or a chevy avalanche, but I decided my best option was the GS just b/c my parents let me have it for almost next to nothing (i have to hook my mom up w/ either an Audi or an Acura seeing that I work at the audi/acura dealership here in town). What i got for it for the winter are these:http://www.spikes-spiders.com/ I have yet to try them, but they better be damnn good for costing what they do. Plus I like the feature that you put the hub on at the beginning of winter, and leave it on your wheels (im keeping the stockers on there for the winter) and then when its time to put the chains on, u just pop the hub of the chains on and go. it IS really that simple. there should be a video on their website showing how easy it is to put them on and take them off. take literally like under 5 min. to do both.

OK that does it. To my dismay another member saying the GS stinks in the winter snow. I'll have to try it out myself and the result will be snow tires or something. Thank you for the link too. And again, "Welcome Back To CL".
