Default GAP - Not The Clothing Store

OK, I found the ***** to post some pics of my GS but this is not for show. These pics show the gap I have between the tires and fender on all four with the rear being a bit smaller than the front. I spent weeks probably even a month going through the forums here @ CL for the correct if not the best solution. I was told from someone outside of CL to upgrade to 20's. But I heard that it won't help much. Now, I'm planning for the future (Spring/Summer '07) since I'm removing rims next month and putting the stock wheels/tires in time for winter. I know some of you may poke some fun at me for driving my GS like (only for 3 months), but I hope some advice and reccomendations can be shared to get my GS from it's current state.

tein cs, then you can set it wherever you want and it will still ride as comfy as stock suspension.

yeah the only way to "fall out of the gap" is to lower the car. Since you are really technical about the amont of gap I'm going to go with chuckb and recommend coils, as springs may not do it for you.

Also there is nothing wrong with having your car stock until you can purchase the correct parts.

What wheel size is that and what tire sizes do you have on there? Having the correct profile can make the gap smaller.

Lowering the car will do it. But as you guys can see, I have some good clearance between tire and fender. I was interested in Eibach springs but I saw on TireRack that it'll lower the car about 1". They also sell a brand from H&R which lowers the car about an 1 1/2". I have not seen much on this brand so I figure it's a crappy brand. Still, that may not be enough to minimize the gap so Tein CS just might be the best choice. Maybe this also worth mentioning, I do not want the "slammed" look; maybe just a inch or two spacing. I just measured the gap, it's just a little less then 4" of spacing. Big huh?

Here's a side shot of the entire car:

I guess your right D2. Of course I was excited when I had the aftermarket rims and tires installed but soon after I was a little upset that my car did not have the "look" that I intended especially not knowing what I needed done. But this is one of the reasons why I'm a CL member. It only got worse as I started seeing other member's cars. That's why I've yet to start a thread with pics of my GS. But for the most part, it's OK; right now it's all about finding the best solution for what I have right now.

I had a gap like yours, and it was fixed with Tanabe DF210 springs. 1.5 to 2" drop. With 18" wheels the gap is only about a finger now.

H&R is a very well known brand for springs. They specialize in springs basically. I guess you can say they are as reputabl as eibach, but H&R is a bit stiffer, tuned for a more european ride.

definately go with the Tein CS, I went the eibach route and it just wasnt low enough and the ride was not great. Save yourself some money and get the Tein CS instead of playing around with springs
