Poll: which OEM rim do you prefer on a GS
#33
Chrome is a must and rims with a 5 or 6 spoke design. I like the open look where I can see rotors and calipers especially if you car has cross-drilled rotors and painted calipers.

These are my favorite OEM wheels: 18" Lexus VAPC (Vacumm and Pressure Casting) JDM wheels, 18X9 all around, and only 22lbs each
These were optional wheels for the JDM (Japan Domestic Market) and a few sets found their way to the states. Lucky me
I'm running a fat setup with 245/45/18's on Yokohama Advan Sports http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=ADVAN+Sport on them.
The 245/45's are more comfortable than the 245/40's were. They are a taller tire so the car can't be lower quite as much, due to the tire hitting the liner at times any lower than I have it, but the ride is much improved and worth it.
The ride with my Bilstein PSS coilovers, Daizen front and rear sway bars, Daizen Control Arm Bushing Kit, Daizen Steering Rack Bushings Kit, RMM front STB, and Tom's rear STB is just down right perfect! Comforable, tracks straight and true, no steering wheel shake at any speed, and corners like crazy! And yes if you don't have the Daizen Steering Rack Bushings Kit installed yet get it!!! The best $40 you'll spend on your GS. My other car is a 1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo and the GS4 now steers as good as this true sports car.
The Advans are quiet and comfortable and don't track the groves in the street. And they perform! I had a set of the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's before the Advans and they were very noisy and they tracked the grooves in the freeway and just drove me crazy. Some people say the Goodyears are quiet - don't even believe it - on the GS they are horrible. The Advan Sports are just amazing tires and you don't get that drone. Highly recommended!!!
What brakes are those you ask? Well those are the Lexus LS400 calipers with the larger LS400 Brembo Rotors. They are aluminum calipers and weigh about 15lbs less per caliper than the stock GS400 front calipers. Just a great upgrade. Again, highly recommended! Almost plug and play. Search LS400 caliper if you want to learn more about this upgrade - lots of info on the board.
Here's a couple pics for your viewing pleasure... and it's okay to drool a little - I sure did the first time I saw these beauties
