Angry A late night gift

I woke up this morning to a pleasant surprise. Somebody did a hit and run on my car in front of my apartment. Of course they did not leave a note or anything. I have not had my kit on for more than a couple of months. This just ruined my month.

I am not really mad about the money it will cost to fix. I am upset at the extra time and effort I will have to spend making sure it gets fixed correctly. Some people have no respect for OPP.

To repaint a rear bumper? You guys must be getting jipped somewhere along the line.

Try some Autosol or metal polisher. It'll get most of it off real good.

My aunt scrapped a wter hydrant backing up. I used Autosol and you can't even see it except for a few areas where it was so deep that it scrapped all the paint.

dude, it sounds like you could find the culprit with a little bit of luck. in the evenings just do a looksie on bumpers around your car for the mate to your scratch. Unless it was the pizza dude, chances are the person will come back to the same parking area.

"Hit and Run" Scrape and Run", whatever you wanna call it, it's f'ed up man. I'm originally from NY and after 30 years spent there, I've seen almost every car having scrapes on either bumper. People use the bumper of your parked car as a signal to let them know when they cannot reverse or move forward anymore when parking. Like most cities, public parking is mainly parallel parking which means contact from another car is pretty much certain. People of all ages do it and in your case, it was done at a not so slow speed. I've seen drivers sort of ram the other car leaving a scar or two. And how messed up it is, most drivers will not leave a note claiming responisibilty; it's just the simple truth.

Sorry to hear the car took a hit, albeit a small hit, but nonetheless a serious scratch. I think the bigger questions i gotta ask though is your car really purple or is my monitor screwed up?!
