Ipod Playback In Your Car

Ipod Playback In Your Car
For you GS owners with iPods, I bought this product through the Apple store online. It's called the "Flexible Dock" from Ten Technologies and is very good. My only issue is that I'm using a Belkin cassette adapter to transmit the music through the speakers. I did a search in CL and read recommendations about adapters from Sony. That'll be the one I purchase and hope it helps me out. At first I thought that it was the cassette player itself, but I put a regular tape in there and it played fine. The stupid Belkin one was always popping out and it became really annoying. A thing that's good about Flex Dock is that you can adjust the volume by a turn of the **** on your car radio. See if you plug the cassette adapter directly to your iPod, you will have to adjust the volume on both the car radio and iPod to prevent your speakers from possibly blowing out bearing your volume level on the iPod is set high.
Just wanted to share my experience being that the iPod's is so popular and more owners of them want to use them in their autos.

I've had both the Sony and the Belkin adapter. I actually had the reverse situation with the tape popping out. It might be that your tape deck is messed up (IMHO). The tape solution is a much better sound than the FM transmitter version. I recently changed out the stock deck with a new Alpine that has the iPod adapter. It works really well and you can control the iPod from the deck of the receiver. I bought the deck kit and it looks and fits really well in my GS4. I kept my stock speakers and added a 12" sub with a 400w amp. The sound quality is outstanding.

I mentioned earlier that I was getting the Sony adapter but I stopped at Walmart took a gamble and bought one made by Phillips. The verdict: Maybe it's too early to say but I popped it right in and it sounded good. Within the 15 or twenty minutes that it took me drive from Walmart, the adapter did not pop out. Also, the adapter is much quieter when be played in the tape deck. I think this compliments the Flexible Dock very well and looks good in my GS. The way how I have mine positioned, it does block a whole lot of my controls and ***** exceot fro the A/C button and Tune ****.
