The advice that I always give people is:
1. Figure out what syle you want (spoke, finish, size, etc)
2. Figure out what you have/want to spend.
9 times out of 10 part 2 takes care of part 1 and narrows things down very well. As Neo pointed out, I think its doing yourself a disservice to cross shop HRE and MRR based solely on appearance, because both are not equally attainable.
The analogy I always use is, its like saying: "Which car do you guys think would look best for me: Honda Civic, Bentley GT, Nissan Maxima, Lexus GS430 or Lamborghini Gallardo"
As far as price goes thats about how far some of those wheels are stretched out from one another, this makes culling things down extra tough. I hate to see someone get pshops, and stare at a wheel for days with a 2500 dollar package budget in mind only to find out that its 5200 with no tires! I do my best to steer people in the right direction of budget vs. wants.

My 2 cents.
The GS being a "big body" needs a either a fat spoke wheel or a multi spoke wheel to accent its large sides. Thin spokes tend to create a "weak" look overall.
Also you have to be careful with brakes behind wheels, the thinner the spokes, the more noticeable the brakes.
Mesh wheels are rare on the GS but mesh is a classic look.
Also from an aesthetics standpoint, odd number of spokes look better to the eye.
Lord knows have a black GS now, I have been looking at wheels for months to no avail.

Darrek, this thread was my collection of wheels that I had collected in last few months when I bored at work and had Seize help to photoshop some of them also, just to see how they look on the car. This was not the thread to help me out to pick the wheels. I just wanted to show people the wheels that I think look the best for black 2nd gen GS, and to have a little poll to see what people like. It was not based on price just a look. Trust me, there are so many 3-6k wheels that just look plain ugly and would look horrible on many cars, and that I would never spend the money on. So, few members including you mentioned the money factor whith wheels. But lets say HRE wheels do not look any better then Trafficstars that I have here for half the cost, so it does not mean if I had $6k to spend I would run to get HRE and not Trafficstars or MRR HR2, which just look hot on this car..

I do agree that fat spokes are the best look for this fat car, mesh is my least favorite. That is why MRR wheels look so goo on it and the RT5 (RTS) wheels. But for the money and the look you can not beat Milanos and MRR wheels.. As DASHOKER said they all break the same on potholes.. And we all had this experience or curbrash.. I would cry if I would break or have curbrash on my HRE, I think for everyday driving you need wheels like MRR or Axis, but for show or weeked car and if your pocket is fat you then might consider something more expensive.. Again this is my two cents..

All very nice wheels, but a few give your car a different look. Are you going more for a VIP or a sporty look.
These look like a similar/replica to the wheels I had on my bimmer (Dronell Type II polished/high chrome lip) The dronells where 3 piece, couldnt tell you about these. Very nice wheel never had lack of compliments when I had them. Would like to know who makes them as well.

What's the difference between the TrafficStars and the Maya RT5s?
And do they even still make the Maya RT5s? For some reason, I like the RT5s better than the newer RM5s...they just look cleaner to me.
